FIVE A’s FOR HEALTHY DEVELOPMENT

  • Acceptance – being accepted without any conditions regardless of our flaws, imperfections and idiosyncrasies.
  • Appreciation – being valued or given importance and being respected. Through this we gain our self-esteem and dignity.
  • Approval – being recognized for our accomplishments so that we do not doubt our capabilities and instead we are motivated to work and achieve more.
  • Affirmation – being accepted for our individuality and uniqueness from all others.
  • Affection – being loved and cherished. Such is manifested verbally and especially through actions.
